In my portfolio i have mainly submitted fashion work because this is the subject i would like to take on as a career as it leaves me to have a larger perspective on my work. I have also included some advertisement photographs and a few i worked on at college for campaigns i.e. quiting smoking and WWF. I also included images with musical instruments as music is a big part of my life. As you will see i have a habit of cropping in my images closely, the main reason for this is detail. I believe if you can not see the whole image it leaves the imagination to think for itself. I also like to use David Lachapelle as my idol, i compare my work to him in use of editing skills and his use of saturation. Eventually i would like to do many photo shoots using his sense of humour in his work, his giant props and surreal surroundings make his images stay in my mind. It would be my dream if one day people would use my work to compare to there own. I have wanted to become a student in Manchester Metropolitan University since i left college last year but i thought life experience would help me when i eventually became one. Therefore i took a year out to gain this. I now feel i am ready to take this next step in my photography career. Manchester is the right place for me to be as it appears to be an excellent course as i have researched on the website and also talked to some students there, another reason would be it is close to home and i feel i would be comfortable there.
